Chicago Magazine Article

Here’s a two page spread of an article I did for my Computer Graphics class. We were given the option to choose a place we recently traveled to. We then had to create the layout, write an article, and select picture that we took. I chose Chicago. I used to be an architecture major, and I went to Chicago as a field for my History of World Architecture class. The article could also be used as an advertisement.

The text says, “Chicago is known for its array of amazing architecture. The entire city is laid out in an ingenious manner. Distinguished architects such as: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Louis Sullivan have each contributed masterworks of monumental buildings to the city.

Chicago can only be thoroughly described by experiencing it. There are a variety of “must-see” buildings to visit. Some of these include: Willis Tower, the Rookery, Crown Hall, the Auditorium Theatre, and many more.

“The mother of art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization.”

– Frank Lloyd Wright

Besides it’s magnificent architecture, Chicago also offers tourists the opportunity to go to a football game at Soldier Field, take a boat ride through the Chicago River, and visit the attractions at Navy Pier.

Take a bike ride anywhere in the city. Chicago is becoming more and more bike-friendly. Ride through the paths by the lake or down some city streets. Visitors are able to rent a bike if they didn’t bring their own.

Now what about the food? Pizzeria Uno created the Chicago-styled pizza, also known as “deep dish” back in 1943. Their thick buttery crust and chunky tomato sauce are topped off with a thick layer of cheese. This mouth-watering combination is sure to delight your taste buds. There are a variety of other locations to experience this delectable entree. Some of these include: Lou Malnati’s, Glordano’s, and Bacino’s.

So what are you waiting for? Come see, experience, ride, and eat.

The city of Chicago will enjoy your company.”
